If you purchased Adobe Student & Teacher edition product, you may have received a serial number or a redemption code. See Serial numbers, redemption codes, and product codes | Student & Teacher editions.
If your serial number is for a different language than the installation language you select (for example, you purchased a German Creative Suite, but attempt to install it in English), you will get an invalid serial number error. Reinstall the product, choose the correct language, and enter the serial number when prompted.
The Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool is designed to run after you uninstall your Adobe application. Run the appropriate uninstaller to remove the application producing the invalid serial number error first, and then run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
If you have received a message similar to the ones displayed below when trying to install your product, stating the serial number you are using is invalid, or has been revoked, it is because the serial number you are attempting to use has been blocked by Adobe.
Adobe blocks serial numbers that have not been issued by Adobe, or have been used fraudulently by unauthorized sellers to produce counterfeit software. Unfortunately, you may only know the serial number has been blocked for this reason when re-activating or reinstalling Adobe software.
I am trying to install Photoshop CS2 but it is telling me I don't have a valid serial number. I initially installed it via disc but in order to fully install it and have it after the free trial, I was told I had to uninstall it and then reinstall it via this link:
I really hope that this product isn't "too old." In the link above, it states: "Adobe strongly advises against running unsupported and outdated software. The serial numbers provided as a part of the download may only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products." I did legitimately purchase CS2 and do need to maintain my current use of the product so I would appreciate it if I could continue using it.
The page is loading fine here. Vargarner you may want to try a different web browser. Once you get to the download page you will also see the serial numbers that will work with the installers that are available on the download page.
Did you download the new activation-free version of the software itself as well as using the new serial number? Your original media will not activate and will not accept the new 'universal' serial numbers, and the activation-free installer won't accept your original serial number.
I did do that. But then when it came time for me to plug in a serial number, the one that is on my jewel case does not work. (I was never provided with a new "universal serial number" that Dave referenced above).
If you've installed a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS4 on one of your company's Mac computers, the program may display an error message when you try to launch it, stating that its licensing or serial number has expired or that you're using an invalid serial number. You're not alone in your predicament -- or your frustration -- especially if you see this error message the first time you try to start up the program after you install it. How you handle this problem depends on whether your serial number actually has expired, or if you're seeing interference from a pre-release trial or pre-purchase demo version of the software.
Open the Apple menu and choose "System Preferences." Select the "Date and Time" preference pane and change your computer's clock date to January 1, 2006. This workaround overcomes the Catch 22 that arises because you must launch the software to remove the old serial number, but the expired serial number prevents you from launching the software. You can leave the time set to the correct value.
Start Adobe Photoshop CS4. Open the "Help" menu and choose "Deactivate." On the deactivation screen, activate the check box for "Erase This Serial Number" and click on the "Deactivate" button. Retail serial numbers for standalone copies of Adobe Photoshop or the Adobe Creative Suite don't expire, but demonstration copies and public beta-test or pre-release versions use licensing with short-term serial numbers.
Start Adobe Photoshop. When the program requests a valid serial number partway through the startup process, enter the serial number for a retail version of the software with no expiration date on its license. If you own a license for Photoshop CS, CS2 or CS3, you can use an upgrade serial number. Because Photoshop CS4 no longer represents the shipping version of the product, you can't obtain it from Adobe Systems. If you didn't purchase a Photoshop CS4 license during the shipping lifespan of the product, you may be able to find a sealed or transferable copy on an online auction site.
Insert your Adobe Photoshop CS4 installation disc and double-click on its installer file, or locate and double-click on your downloaded installer file for the program. Follow the installation instructions. When you're prompted for a serial number, enter the number on your disc box or from the purchase-confirmation email message you received from Adobe Systems. 2b1af7f3a8
